Skin-to-skin headbands

You may have already thought about doing skin-to-skin contact with your baby, but you are afraid that he will be cold or that he will not be held well enough?

The skin-to-skin headband allows you to experience this practice in complete safety. The fabric adapts to the baby's morphology to wrap him without compressing him: surrounded by the headband, he is held against you and you are not afraid of him slipping.

Skin-to-skin contact also helps regulate the baby's breathing and temperature, reduce crying and stress, and stimulate milk production and breastfeeding.

It's a great way to bond with your baby right from birth! Skin-to-skin helps with the transition from the womb to the outside world. It provides multi-sensory stimulation for your baby and helps with rest, wakefulness, crawling, attachment behavior, sucking, and falling asleep.

By the way, skin-to-skin contact is recommended for premature babies. We also advise all dads to try this practice with their newborn!

You will use the skin-to-skin headband from your baby's first days, maybe even the first hours. We therefore advise you to choose a suitable fabric, without products that could irritate your newborn's skin. Our headbands are OEKO-TEX certified and 100% organic cotton.

Choose a soft and stretchy material to ensure your baby's comfort. He should be able to snuggle up against you without being compressed. Comfort is the key word. The fabric should keep you warm without making you sweat.

The ideal is to choose a simple headband: if you can install it in a few seconds, you will be more likely to use it! Our headband attaches with a simple velcro strip. Easy to fold, it does not take up space and you can take it with you wherever you go for a few moments of skin-to-skin even when you are not at home.

To install your headband, pass it behind your back and lower it onto your hips.

Then place your baby against you, face down on your bare chest. Your baby's legs should be slightly apart (in a "frog" position) and you should feel that he is well held against you. Then pull the headband up to his ears.

Make sure your baby's head is turned to the side, that his airways are clear. You need to be able to see your child's face and that he is within kissing distance. Finally, enjoy!

There are a few rules to follow to ensure your baby is properly installed in their skin-to-skin wrap:

• His face must always be visible
• His mouth and nose should be clear, without obstructions, and his chin slightly raised to facilitate breathing.
• His neck should be straight and not lean forward or backward.
• His head is turned to the side, which clears his airway
• His body faces the parent's, arms and legs on either side of the parent
• His legs are bent, like a frog's.
• His back is covered by the headband and possibly not a blanket

It is not recommended to fall asleep with your baby on you in skin-to-skin contact. If you feel the need to sleep, do not hesitate to entrust the care of the baby to another person.

Our headbands are not designed to be used as a baby carrier.

It is recommended that you practice skin-to-skin contact with your baby from birth. You can continue this once you get home, until your baby is about three months old.

The skin-to-skin headband is the most suitable model for breastfeeding your baby with complete peace of mind.

In fact, the skin-to-skin position promotes breastfeeding and helps the baby to instinctively find the right movements to latch on to the breast.

Our skin-to-skin headbands are designed to be easy to care for and use.

Machine washing is possible at 30°C and 400 rpm maximum.

On the other hand, machine drying is not recommended, you risk damaging the fabric.

Our headbands are made of 100% OEKO-TEX certified organic cotton, without elastane, and knitted in a GOTS certified workshop in Portugal.

The stretchy cotton adapts to the baby's body and the parent's morphology while being resistant and enveloping.
