All I Want for Christmas: Making Peace with My Body
Dear Santa,
This year, I'm not going to beat around the bush. I just want one gift: to accept my body.
To give birth to my baby, my body had to prepare and evolve for more than 9 months. Even though I know that my body did something crazy, I know that it has changed. It is new. It has stretch marks, new shapes, new breasts... In fact, I don't really recognize myself anymore.
So here it is, dear Santa, I would like to be proud again of this body that carried life, no matter how much it has changed or how much it doesn't look like the super moms on Instagram.
Today, I want to look at myself in the mirror more serene. I want to have confidence in myself. I want to love and cherish this new me. This body of mother and woman tells my story. I want to accept this evolution, these new shapes and everything that goes with it.
I want to be happy and comfortable in my own shoes. For me first and foremost, for my children too, to show them the way to a fulfilled life where complexes have no place. Because we only have one body, one life and thousands of adventures to live together.
Dear Santa, I have decided, this year, I want to make peace with my body. So I will wait for you wisely on December 25, but if you are late, it does not matter, motherhood has also taught me patience!
PS: if you can also help me make peace with my brain and its mental load, I'm all ears.
PS2: It seems you forgot some things on my 2021 gift list , so I'll write it down again.
PS 3: and if you don't have any of that, bring me some maternity clothes !
