We told you about a great trick to relax your child and have your hands free: babywearing. But no matter how hard you try, your child doesn't seem to like it. He grumbles, he cries, he arches his back. Is it serious, doctor? Not at all, and we have solutions. Studio Romeo guides you to make the most of babywearing, the best ally in the first hours, first days, first weeks, first months, first years... We promise!
What is babywearing?
Humans are mammals made to be carried. In our contemporary life, we quickly forget this, even our babies! Carrying is simply giving your child what he needs: to be against you, in a physiological position that is pleasant for him and for you.
Why doesn't my baby like being carried and what are the solutions?
There are several reasons that could explain this refusal.
You are starting out…
… and your baby is not used to it. You may be a little stressed. Your movements are clumsy, you are fumbling. And to make matters worse, babies sense everything, starting with your discomfort! In these cases, do it little by little, first over short periods to get used to it. Before putting him in his baby carrier, take him in your arm, rock him. Talk to him softly, then explain your movements when you start to slide the fabric of your baby carrier over him. Take your time and stay calm. Do short sessions at home, in a familiar space. Once equipped, move around because the rocking motion is pleasant for your baby.
A question of position
Your baby is not well installed and is uncomfortable. So you need to review your position, readjust the scarf or sling so that it is well wedged against you, without being too tight either. Head to our user guides to review!
The wrong time
Your baby is hungry, he wants to do something else... In short, carrying comes at the wrong time. In this case, offer it a little later.
Too hot, too cold...
If your baby is dressed too tightly, it may be uncomfortable. You should then undress him a little, taking into account this rule: the baby carrier acts as an additional garment, so do not wear a coat. In freezing cold weather, you will use your coat or an extra blanket. In very hot weather, leave your baby in a bodysuit, for example.
Your baby is suffering from tension
Your child arches in his baby carrier, stretches his legs and tenses up. Following childbirth, in the event of a caesarean section, or for another reason, some babies may need an osteopathy session to resolve a possible muscle tension problem. After this work, your baby will be more comfortable in his baby carrier .
Is your baby still reluctant? Take a babywearing class!
If despite our advice, it still gets stuck, do not hesitate to take a babywearing consultation. You will be guided by a professional during a single session to answer all your questions.

We have already had many very happy parents:
“Thanks to Daphne who saved our portage”
" Hello Daphne, thanks to you I managed to carry my baby in a sling this morning for the first time! He's much better at it. It can still be improved but it's already a good start."
"Hello Daphné, thanks again for the babywearing class yesterday at noon. I tried to do it alone again this morning and I succeeded the first time. I feel much more relaxed about letting go of my hands and my baby is much better settled."
