Hello December!
This month, it's Aude who took part in our mini-interview! Mother of two little girls, Brune and Alma, Aude reveals her good tips, must-haves and mom's favorites :)
Introduce yourself ;)
My name is Aude, I am 30 years old and I am an interior designer by training. I stopped working when my eldest daughter Brune was born, so that was two years ago. My youngest, Alma, who is 5 months old, has just started daycare, so I am embarking on two projects around the child that I have been maturing since this parental leave (well, if the autumnal illnesses decide to be more lenient with me...).
What kind of mom are you? Cool or slutty?
A mother hen without a doubt! I pinch myself so I don't run at the slightest noise ;)
I know I still have a lot to learn because I am a young mother and I don't want to become a smothering mother, but a cuddly mother for sure!
What are your 3 “must have” childcare accessories that you recommend to all future mothers?
The Studio Roméo baby carrier has really made my life easier. In addition to being pretty, and that's a real criterion for me (which is really not the case for all slings...), you can put it on quickly to put baby to sleep, go for a walk or get busy at home. It has saved me from quite a few situations. The Babybjorn deckchair which is great because you can take it everywhere. Perfect with two children to keep baby entertained or even start weaning. Alma likes to swing in it. Another Babybjorn article, but having tested others with Brune, the travel cot is really the best. Very simple and compact, a joy when you often go away for the weekend.
AND YOUR ESSENTIALS FOR GOING ON A WALK?
I never leave without a diaper (number 74), I must have at least 20 at home. Brune and Alma use them as comfort blankets and above all they accept that I wash them (this is not always the case with others, phew) so I use them for everything. The yoyo stroller is still really practical, but for stroller trips with both of them I opt for the bugaboo bée with a skateboard for brune. It is very practical because it has a small seat which makes the journey less tiring. And otherwise compotes, a book, a carabiner to hold the bags on the stroller, hats, pacifiers... and therefore a huge Arsene et les pipelettes canvas shopping bag to carry all that!
BY THE WAY, WHERE DO YOU LIKE TO WALK WITH Alma and Brune?
We are lucky to be right next to the public garden in Bordeaux. We go there a lot.
And otherwise I love walking around town.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION?
At the moment our favorite travel destinations are... our parents' house. The only place where we can take short breaks without feeling guilty because they are in very good hands!
I get hot flashes just imagining taking the plane with all our suitcases (I don't know how to travel light at all... really not) and the girls are still very young. I admire these mothers who leave on a trip very quickly with babies, without it seeming to pose the slightest problem. I immediately see the crying on the plane, the luggage that weighs 3 tons, the broken nights because of the change of location... (I've experienced it ;)) in short, it doesn't really sound like a vacation to me anymore.
Do you have any KID-FRIENDLY ADDRESSES OR GOOD DEALS to recommend to us, in your region or elsewhere?
In Bordeaux there is Darwin which is really great for the whole family, for lunch or brunch on Sunday. There is a great organic grocery store and a very good coffee roaster. On the other hand, it is crowded so you have to watch young children.
For lunch there is also the Mama Shelter and the ultra kid friendly Café Gourmand.
A lovely children’s boutique which also offers a hairdresser for them: Little Fabrik.
CREATORS, BRANDS, ARTISTS... WHO INSPIRES YOU?
There are so many, and I love Instagram for that!
- I love the Petit Bec brand and the personality of its creator Olivia.
- Happy to see you dolls, I watch out for their Christmas model for Smallable every year.
- The Marceline Paris for its initial jewelry.
- Mi Canesu a lovely Spanish clothing brand.
- But also the illustrations of Saar Manche, which I find gentle and poetic
I have a very special attachment to the Bonpoint house, it was a ritual between my mother and me when I was little.
She took me once a week to the boutique on the rue royale in Paris, I met her at her workplace and we spent the afternoon together.
I kept the same happiness when entering their stores for my daughters.
WHAT ARE THE BLOGS YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE TO FOLLOW?
I'm not a big blogger, but I really like looking at the Maison Margaret one ( Anne Claire Ruel ) and I can't wait to discover the pretty home collection she's preparing for us.
There is also the one by Amandine aka Pink Polka dots which has just been launched and which I really like.
And finally, last but not least, that of Charlotte, my best friend, who talks about cancer (she went through it herself) and who launched boxes to support patients.
