The swaddle is an essential accessory for all parents, who find it extremely useful on a day-to-day basis. Soft and very absorbent, it's a multi-purpose must-have that you can't live without! Here are our seven favourite ways to use a large nappy: 

Swaddling 

This is the primary function of a muslin swaddle, and this technique is coming back into fashion. A large nappy is perfect for wrapping your baby from head to toe when it's time for a nap or bedtime.   

Lightweight blanket 

A nappy works perfectly as a light blanket.  If the fresh air is a little chilly, you can wrap your baby in it to keep him or her warm. It can also be useful for covering your breasts when breastfeeding in public, for example. 

Portable changing mat 

Outside, as well as at home, you can slide the nappy under your baby's body while you change them. 

Soft toy 

A beautifully soft cotton nappy could also become your baby's constant companion. Attached to a dummy, a soft toy, or tied into a ball, it can become a really conforting security blanket. 

Bib/Shoulder protector 

The nappy is your faithful friend before, during and after meals! Tied loosely around your baby's neck, the nappy can be used as a bib. After breast or bottle-feeding, at burping time, it protects against regurgitation. 

Play mat 

On the move, the nappy can be used as a play mat. Your baby will love the ultra-soft cotton muslin and the pretty printed patterns. 

Multi-functional protection 

Just like a sheet, a nappy lets you add a layer of protection when baby is settled, whether that's in a bouncer, in a cot or in a pushchair.
